Margaret Turner Cox

Margaret Turner Cox, 84, wife of the late Joe Cox Captain Sandy, and beloved mother of Cindy Cox, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 after a brief illness. Margaret was born in Lexington, KY on March 6, 1926 and resided in Savannah with her husband and daughter from 1965. Margaret pursued a career as a travel agent for many years, and her adventurous spirit took her and daughter Cindy to some interesting corners of the world. She is also survived by her brother Joe; her stepdaughters, Terry Cox and Connie Hicks; Connie's daughters, Bekah Hicks and Hannah Zeno, and Hannah's son Aden. Margaret will be most remembered by her family and many friends for her big heart, her love of life and her care and compassion for anyone in need, especially her precious animal friends.
A registry is available at Fox and Weeks on Hodgson Memorial Drive and online at www.foxandweeks.com. A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm, Sunday March 14, 2010 at St. Michael's Episcopal Church at 3101 Waters Avenue, officiated by Rev. William Brock. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Margaret's name to either Save a Life Animal Welfare, 912.598.7729, P.O.
